3nity Media Player

The 3nity part in this application’s name refers to the fact that it is a product offered by 3nity Softwares. The Media Player part refers to the functionality this application has to offer – it is a media player. But mind you, a media player that can play lots of things. It can play locally stored video as well as audio files, it can play audio CDs as well as movie DVDs, it can open URLs, and more.

To get 3nity Media Player up and running, you must complete a standard installation procedure, which goes something like this: download an installer; run the downloaded installer; follow the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. You’ll be done in just a few clicks.

The interface is just what you would expect from a media player: a central window that presents the video and playback controls at the bottom. There a few details about the interface that must be mentioned here: multiple languages and multiple skins are available for the interface; you can switch to Compact Mode by using the C keyboard shortcut; you can go full screen by using the F keyboard shortcut.

3nity Media Player is a graphical user interface (GUI) for MPlayer and it is based on MPUI, Martin Fiedler’s MPlayer fronted for Windows. As you may already know, MPlayer is well-known for being able to play a wide variety of media files out of the box. Cons:
